(Re)marks
From Yesterday For Tomorrow
Curated by Aniko Erdosi
(Re)marks From Yesterday For
Tomorrow introduces fresh voices from
the contemporary Hungarian art scene to New
York. The works share a sensibility for current
events such as environmental concerns and issues of civil society.
Their
works include a recycling workshop where visitors can create their own handbag
or notebook from used fruit juice cartons and street ad vinyl; a collaborative
lawnmower project in Brooklyn
Bridge Park;
a contemporary urban prayer-wheel; and an exchange project of t-shirts with
well-known political logos.
Participating Artists:
Richard Garami and Gabor Farkas Varga (including local
artists: Gülsen Çalik, Marci MacGuffie, Trong. G. Nguyen), HINTS Group (Tamas
Ilauszky, Eszter Agnes Szabo, Aniko Szovenyi), Csaba Nemes, Hajnal Nemeth, PP
Group (Katarina Sevic, Zita Majoros), Andrea Schneemeier
