Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum and Rev. Elder Troy D. Perry

Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum, Senior Rabbi of New York City's Congregation Beth Simchat Torah http://cbst.org/index.shtml, and Rev. Elder Troy D. Perry, the founder of Metroplitan Community Churches http://www.mccchurch.org//AM/Template.cfm?Section=Home, have been elected Grand Marshals to lead the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender March http://www.hopinc.org/events/march.html in New York City on June 24. Now in its 38^th year, the celebration commemorates the historic Stonewall Rebellion in New York City’s Greenwich Village – June 27 to July 3, 1969 – which initiated the movement for gay and lesbian equality worldwide. Participants and spectators in the popular event number in the hundreds of thousands annually and habitually include the Mayor, the Governor and both Senators.
