MEET THE Artist
When Adam was a young boy, he drew everything upside down. This worried
his parents so much that they took him to a doctor. After a few examinations
the doctor decided that Adam was perhaps “a bit special.”
Unable to accept this diagnosis, his father continued to examine him. One day
he sat opposite Adam and asked, “Well, son, please draw me a house!” To his
father’s dismay, the house still appeared upside down in the drawing. By this
time it was clear to his father as well that maybe the boy had a problem.
Eventually, his father figured it out: his son draws everything upside down in
order to better display his drawing to the viewer.
Almost 20 years have gone by but Adam’s mentality has not changed. Only that
instead of drawing, he plays the piano to us, his audience.

Adam won all the prizes (I. Prize, Grand Prize, and Special Prize) at the
International Chopin Piano Competition in Budapest in 2004. That same year,
CNN did a report documenting his American Tour and called him a “rising star.”
In 2005, Adam became a Steinway Artist and found himself in the company
of some of the most famous pianists ever—including Vladimir Horowitz and
Krystian Zimerman.
Adam had his Carnegie debut in 2006. He was also the first Hungarian pianist
who signed a contract with a U.S. label, which in turn has given the world an
opportunity to hear his recordings, making them available in 400 online stores.
He regularly appears at prestigious concert halls in the U.S., Switzerland, China,
Singapore, and Indonesia. Adam is gaining a reputation as one of the finest
European pianists of his generation. This piano virtuoso is powered by the
spirit of Liszt, and his improvisations on well-known melodies make his
concerts unforgettable.
His newest album, Plays the Piano (2007), contains both studio and concert
recordings of pieces from Bach to Liszt as well as original compositions.
