Conductor Iván Fischer leads the esteemed Budapest Festival Orchestra in two programs that spotlight Hungarian composer Béla Bartók. The first concert features Bartók’s rarely-heard complete music for the ballet pantomime The Wooden Prince (1914-1917), along with Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with pianist Alexander Toradze. For the second concert, guest artists Ildikó Komlósi, mezzo-soprano and László Polgár, bass join the Orchestra for Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle; works by R. Stauss round out the program.
