”Naturally Youth!” 12th International Culture Week in Pecs

17.-27. July2008 – ICWiP 2008

INVITATION

·         Each year, ICWiP gathers together approximately 250 young students from all over the world to the Hungarian city of Pécs. The culture week is a combination of a high standard summer school discussing topical youth issues, diverse intercultural activities and a festival presenting performers and performances from different countries and cultures. The allover purpose of the festival is to learn, discover, exhange thoughts and build lasting relationships. Pécs, also chosen to be one of the “European Capitals of Culture” for year 2010, makes a perfect location for the event because of its muticultural backround, interesting surroundings and central location!

·         Individual students, student organizations, NGO actives, friend-groups...no matter what kind of group you have, or if you are coming alone. All the young people between ages 18-35 are invited to participate!

• This year the main theme of ICWiP is “Naturally Youth”. The topics of workshops and lectures are all built around the theme. ICWiP wants to encourage young people to discuss, share their wiews and make their statements about issues related to youth, nature and wellbeing. Ability to share opinions with students from different countries and continents makes a fertile ground for intercultural dialogue and learning. The themes of the workshops will be:

Peace and intercultural dialogue                    Awareness, consciousness and the media

All for health –sports and community                How sustainable?responsible environmental actions

Harmony-alternative ways for mental health     Home at nature-nature at home

(Not) ill and (not) disabled –together in health

• Music and dance are as important parts of the festival as lectures and workshops. Whole week lasting Cultural Festival takes place in historical downtown of Pécs with hungarian and foreign bands, dance-groups and other performers.

• Open ICWiP NGO-market is a possibility to meet and get to know different organizations from all over the world! It is a place for making new contacts and sharing your wiews. Come and make your NGO more known also internationally, it´s completely free of charge!

• Show your football skills in traditional ICWiP-soccer cup! Build a team and let your inner Ronaldo loose! Also the best supporters will be rewarded! ICWiP is also parties, trips, wine tasting, sports and much much more.....
